Distortion at random times

Using Numark IDJPro and Djay 1.6.3 on Ipad 1 iOS 5.1.1. Software runs great for a duration, then randomly begins distorting the song playing and every song I load with an extremely hot signal. I do not see a pattern for when this happens, seems to just happen randomly. Only way I have found to fix is to close and reopen the app. I would really love to use this app for small events that require little mic work, but I can not trust it in this current state. Anyone else have this problem/know a solution? Possibly a hardware problem?

  • Did you perform the firmware update for your iDJ Pro?
  • Does this also happen when you’re not using the iDJ Pro?
  • Also, can you please make a video recording showing the issue?

I actually notice this sometimes too, I’m using a 32GB iPad 2 with the iDJ Pro and sometimes when I open the app and play my music it’s distorted/staticky but a restart or the app/system fixes it. I just hope it’ll never happen during the middle of a gig!

I’m getting a lot of this distortion with djay 2 which requires an iPad restart to resolve.

I have had it happen at a gig. First time using it publically at a school dance. Had to throw ipod on quickly while I trouble shot it. I cant recall if I played through the IDJNow input or directly into the speaker with the Ipod. Any idea if it’s the hardware? Is there a built in soundcard to the IDJPro that could be to blame?

  1. Firmware 1.2.1.
  2. I have only had this happen while using the IDJ Pro (the only time I really use the app).
  3. No video since it happens randomly for no apparent reason. When I try to replicate it, no luck. Always happens at different times. Sometimes while loading a new song, sometimes when I am not even touching the controller.

Is there a crash report you can tell me how to open to send to you?

Is there a newer firmware update I cant use since I do not have iOS 6?
