Finding the right controller !
As a new user to this great software, I - and I imagine many others - look at the website for DjPro and finds a huge list of brands, models and options than can be used to control the software. Some will offer direct full compatibility, others do not or just partially
After spending several days digging trough all the options in this list, I am not really getting anywhere as there is no real compatibility listing which makes it easier to determine what works and what doesn’t.
So if I may suggest the great wizards at DjPro to get working on a table-list that, for example, looks like a feature listing.
Suggested would be a table with on the top of the tabel from left to right most sought usability:
- Cue set
- Cue Play
- Play
- Mastertempo
- Key (lock)
- Sync (lock)
- Playlist selection
- Playlist view ( on screen of controller )
- Wave display ( controller screen )
- Number of concurrent players
- Number of channels
- Number of Inputs ( to extra channels )
- etc, et
I think you get the idea.
Then on the left of this list ( top to bottom ) the various brands and their models.
This would make it easier to find the right controller for what you - as a DJ - feel is most important for your performances. If a certain controller has the feature enabled when using DjPro then a checkbox like could be used to note the compatibility, a would note no compatibility and a would note that it’s unclear, where a would not that the compatibility is there but you’d need to map it yourself.
Just a though as the myriad of options and the lak of clarity in which controllers have their built-in screens activated is confusing at best.
For example, it is suggested that any CDJ and XDJ would allow you to use the built-in screen to display wave forms and such, but if I read the community _ thus far _ I have not seen anyone confirming this.
Hope this idea makes some sense
Cheers,
Peter
