djay 2: Local Library scrolling lag

  • Hardware/controllers used (e.g. Reloop Mixon 8 Pro): None

Summary of the issue:
When I open djay pro 2 everything works however when I try to scroll down in my from, say, Al Green to Brenton Wood in Music (just my local library) I have an enormous lag time. It eventually gets from Al Green to Brenton Wood but it is extremely choppy. I can’t figure out why there is such a lag from browsing from one song or artist to the next.

How to reproduce the issue:
I can’t really say how to reproduce it but just think of the early days of the internet when a video buffered before continuing to play. That’s what it feels/looks like.

Hi @OriginalMixedUpKid, welcome to the Community! Sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. Unfortunately, we are no longer supporting djay 2 with updates. However, I can try to help you troubleshoot the issue.

  1. Can you think of anything that has changed recently in your setup between when it was working normally and the issue started?
  2. Are you running any other applications in the background when this occurs? Maybe a Time Machine or iCloud backup?
  3. Does this issue persist if you disable iCloud Sync for djay 2 in your System Settings?

How big is your library? Do you have an external drive connected?
