sup STU, Its really hard to video, because I dont have proper microphones on my phone to pick up the difference, I noticed the difference, Like I mentioned, I suspect its the AutoGain, anyways I am happy with how solid 5.6 is.
I’ve always kept my headroom at -6 because that’s the sweet spot with my speakers — anything higher and they peak early. This setup has worked perfectly on DJay Pro 5.6 and every previous version. But 5.6.2 just doesn’t sound right.
With 5.6.2, you can’t find a comfortable, balanced level. The highs are too sharp, the bass feels thin, and no matter how you adjust your mixer levels, you can’t dial it in without your speakers or sub hitting the limiter (red light staying on). The whole frequency balance feels off. Hopefully 5.6.3 improves this.
For me, 5.6 is the best version overall — the sound is perfectly balanced across highs, mids, and bass, and I can push the volume without the limiter constantly lighting up.
I haven’t changed any of my DJay Pro settings across versions. Same with Serato — I keep headroom at -6 there too. The only difference is that I never use Auto Gain in Serato because it sounds terrible, but I rely on it in DJay Pro because Tidal tracks and some of my local music vary so much in volume.
Thanks @eecy_cee, I checked with our engineering team and they didn’t make any changes to audio between 5.6 and 5.6.2. If you could please share some comparison recordings, we can investigate further.
will do Slak_Jaw, If the Devs didnt change anything then its something else, Thanks for the info Slak_Jaw, I’ll report back after the weekend, I appreciate it
