I have been a heavy user of DJayPro and DJay Pro2 for over a year and I just wish it was more reliable and more stable.
I own a MacBook Pro (latest), I use USB-C to USB-B cable (no dongles), I keep my DJayPro software updated and STILL, it is not stable as Serato is.
I am very used to DJay Pro2 and I love it, but when I am in a stage with a huge crowd, I panic when I see the DJay Pro2 screen freezing or the responses are delayed (I press play and it takes 2 sec to play, I load something, it takes 10 sec to load, etc.)
I just wish I could be sure the Algoridimm will not let me down again (as It has done in the past).
If there is a guide on what to do, what hardware to use, I will definitely consider using it!
Besides the unstable, delays and freezing of the software, there are a few extras issues I can point it out:
With Pioneer CDJ 2000:
1- Semi-Frozen state: as soon as I load the track, it starts playing the track (by itself) at a very, very, very low speed, not letting me play the track, neither to load another one! It just kind of freeze the deck.
2- Switching and Flickering: each time I switch from the “Link mode” to “USB mode” on the CDJ, the music stops for a short second.
With the Pioneer DDJ-SX2 controller:
1- Limiters: The channels (pre-set by the software) are often not reaching the green light, but the main is peaking on red. That must be something with the internal calibration of the software, loading too little on the channel and overloading the main output.
2- Cue points: often the lights on the pads don’t light up.
2- Samples: never the colours on the pads reflect the selected colour for the sample
3- Samples: I have 2 sections of 8 pads on my controller (2 rows of 4 each side), but I can load only 6 samples on each by DJay Pro, so It gets unsequential and a couple of them end up blank.
(this last 2 issues combined, make hard to figure out which sample is which when you are to use them on the night)
Those are the issues I could remember now, but of Algoriddim is willing to look at them, I am willing to keep reporting them.
Please, let me know.
