Hi All,
Newbie to this world, need some serious help!
i use DJAY pro, with my IPad Air 3 and a DDJ FLX 4
I have recently purchased
Pioneer Dj HDJ - Cue 1 wired headphones and Pioneer DJ DM 40D speakers.
After plugging everything up, The app registered hardware has been added.
But that was it, the Audio settings didn’t register the external speakers ( which I plugged with rca to rca ) or my headphones . Nothing worked.
Please can someone give me some advice on how to get this all working.
Thank you !
The DJ software is not going to list your speakers and headphones. Presumably they’re connected to the master and headphone output of the FLX4? The software will only see the controller.

Hey @PKtheDJ
Yes that’s right, connected to the FLX4.
After I plugged it all in, I did notice a new mode added called hardware.
However they still didn’t come on. What would you advise ?

I’ve attempted today and managed to get the headphones to work
However that is all, it doesn’t play the sound out of my speakers which are wired to the FLX4.
Nor will it play out of the iPad.
I’ve noticed the app doesn’t register plugged in hardware immediately either. I have to close it down and open it back up.
Please someone help ! Becoming very frustrating.
Hi @BigBadda, with your FLX4 connected properly to your iPad,
- Please swipe down from the Top Right Corner of your iPad screen to reveal the Apple Control Center
- From here you need to select the audio icon at the top right of the screen.
- In the next window, please select the FLX4 as your audio output device.
- Now return to djay and navigate to Settings>Audio Devices> and make sure
a. Mixer Mode is set to Internal
b. Main Output is set to something like Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 ch 1-2
c. Pre-Cueing is set to something like Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 ch 3-4
Retest and let me know if that solves it for you…

Hey perfect !
I actually managed to figure this out with a friend a few hours just before this message.
However selecting the audio icon is something new, so I will also give that ago.
Thank you so much for the help !
Happy mixing

Can you help me with mapping on iOS for the DDJ- FLX4
How do I go about using the Neural Mix feature on my controller. Is there official mapping available for the DDJ FLX where this feature is compatible on the touch pads ?
Hi @BigBadda, I don’t have access to a FLX4 to confirm if Neural Mix functions are already MIDI mapped or not. If not, you can easily remap one of the Performance Pad sections yourself to Neural Mix Mute/Solo. Just scroll through the available commands within the MIDI Learn tool to find these commands.
For more information on MIDI Mapping in djay, please refer to the linked FAQ article.
You can also change the normal EQs in the djay UI to Neural Mix EQs.
