Hi everyone,
I’m writing to request a specific UI improvement within Djay Pro, particularly concerning the integration with Tidal. As many of us use Djay Pro for its seamless streaming capabilities, consistency in how track information is displayed across different services would be a significant enhancement.
Currently, when Browse music from Beatport within Djay Pro, there’s a very useful option to display a “Release Date” column right next to the track title. This is incredibly helpful for DJs to quickly identify the age of a track, assess its relevance, or even understand its historical context in a set. I have a screenshot of this feature enabled for Beatport tracks, showing how clearly the release year is visible.
However, when switching to music sourced from Tidal within Djay Pro, this “Release Date” column option is unavailable. There’s no way to enable it in the view settings, and consequently, the release date for Tidal tracks simply isn’t displayed in the Browse list. I also have a screenshot illustrating this absence, highlighting the inconsistency.
This creates an asymmetry in the user experience and makes it harder to work efficiently with Tidal tracks compared to Beatport tracks. Having the release date readily visible for Tidal songs would be incredibly beneficial for:
- Quick Filtering: Easily identify newer or older tracks.
- Set Preparation: Help curate sets based on era or freshness.
- Overall Context: Provide immediate relevant information without needing to click into each track’s details.
My request is to please implement the “Release Date” column display option for Tidal tracks in Djay Pro, mirroring the functionality already present for Beatport. This would bring much-needed consistency and greatly improve the workflow for DJs utilizing Tidal’s vast library.
Thank you for considering this feature request!
