Hi. I’m doing a corporate gig with supplied equipment of a djmA9 and cdj3000s. I will be using video mode onto projectors via my laptop hdmi out.
I understand how to connect 3000s via hid mode through the usb to djay. My questions is do I need to also connect the A9 to my comp in order to use djay video functionality? Ie to use the video crossfader fx properly.
Thx
Anyone? Got an idea with this?
Hi @rhythmandbeats, unfortunately, I don’t have experience with this specific setup so I passed it onto the engineering team the other day to see if they have any suggestions. Most of our team is away for the holidays though so I’m not sure how soon I’ll hear back. Maybe someone else in the Community will chime in before then…

Hi @rhythmandbeats, sorry for the delayed response. I spoke with engineering. You need to connect the A9 to the Mac to use the crossfader for video. It has the added benefit of also working as the audio interface, which means you don’t need RCA cables from the CDJs to the Mixer. I hope that helps!
Thanks for chasing this up. So essentially all 3 pieces of hardware - A9 and 2x CDJs - need to be usb plugged to Mac and then make sure I choose the A9 as the audio device not the CDJs - as detailed like here - https://youtu.be/2yyTGaVpLh4?si=a8NypzQBVAACFgGh
Yes, that’s correct. Essentially follow the video from around the 6:55 mark, but connect the 2 CDJs to a USB Hub then to the laptop and connect the mixer directly to the laptop. Select the A9 as your audio device (not the CDJs) and double check that the correct channels are routed in the djay>Settings>Audio Devices. I hope that helps!
