I would like to ask a question does Pioneer DJ SB3 work with DJay Pro iPhone version because i tried to use my iPhone with SB3 last night it doesn’t power on despite my iPhone being plugged and charging through the adapter …has anyone ever tried this?? It’s shown in the DJay Pro site that SB3 works with the iPhone version but it doesn’t seem to power on when I tried it last night
Hi @Brown_bkp, yes the SB3 is supported on iOS.
Is the SB3 also plugged into power using its own power supply and adapter? I’m pretty sure the iPhone will not be able to power this device via bus power alone.
Please tell me the steps to connect my SB3 with iPhone a lot of videos have been seen on YouTube are for iPads When I tried my Apple Lightning camera adapter it didn’t turn on the SB3 as expected how can I turn the SB3 on knowing that sb3 does not have its own power source it only relies on power from the USB
Are you using a genuine Apple Camera Adapter or a third party adapter?
Perhaps if you connect a higher wattage charger to your Camera Adapter it will be able to pass enough power through to power the SB3.
Yes it’s a genuine lightning adapter because I have been using it on my FLX10 and it works perfectly no breakages but it doesn’t power the SB3 i have not tried it with Rev1 though
Okay great. Try with a higher wattage charger then. Like one for an iPad or Mac.
Please can you recommend the watts so i can be more specific and also I have an 4-port USB hub that has a DC port on it can I plug it to power would it work
I don’t have access to an SB3 so I don’t know what the wattage requirements are. I would check the device itself or reach out to Pioneer Support for more details on the power requirements.
This is the usb hub I’m talking about can i plug my iPhone Lightning adapter and plug the USB hub into it then plug the SB3 MIDI cord into the USB hub while I plug the USB hub into a power socket via the DC port
Your video didn’t upload. I’m not sure if that will work, but you can give it a try. I do know that the Lighting port on iPhones has some limitations. If you had a newer USB-C iPhone or iPad then a USB-C hub with pass-thru power delivery would work no problem. I personally use a UGreen USB-C hub with my iPhone 15 and iPad Pro and it works great.
I dont have a newer iphone with type c i use i phone 11 with the lightning adapter for djay pro and also this the usb hub im talking about
This is more of a hardware issue than a software one. I can’t say either way based on your video if that USB hub will work or not with your Camera Adapter and Lightning iPhone. If you need to know for certain before trying it, then you should contact Pioneer Support to confirm the SB3 power requirements. I hope that helps!
I will try to contact pioneer for that and know what i can do thanks i get back to you
Sounds good. You’re welcome.
