I have tried to double-click on tracks several times but to load on any empty deck but has just not worked. I am using MacOS (2022) with Rane Performer. Please, could any one advise?

My initial guess, based on your description is that you have the Double-click song in library to edit metadata enabled in the djay Settings>Advanced>Trackpad & Mouse. If so, please try unchecking this setting and testing again. I hope that helps!
