Downbeat adjustment from the current position

Rekordbox has a neat feature where you can adjust/reset the downbeat from the current position.

Some tracks lose their way, especially tracks that don’t strictly follow 4/4 timing, and the downbeat as presented in djay isn’t necessarily the best mix point.

Currently, if you reset the downbeat, it does it for the whole track. This suggestion is only from the current position forwards.

This is possible already you simply place a new grid marker where you want the new downbeat to start from.

Hi @discoian, welcome to the Community!

  1. As @SamJam stated, you can set a new Downbeat where ever you like in the track.
  2. However, from you description, it sounds like what you’re looking for is Anchor Points. These are use for song with varying/dynamic beatgrids. Setting Anchor Points allows you to manually correct these if the Fluid Beatgrid system doesn’t automatically get it right.

You’re welcome @discoian. Happy to help

Couldn’t find the exact same problem, but this is close enough..

Problem: The analysis on the downbeat is off by a few beats. and it happened quite a fair bit.

My setup:

  • Ipad Pro 12.9 M1 512GB
  • IOS 18.6.2
  • Djay v 5.4.3

I understand i can adjust the new downbeat as per this post but I would love to know how do I set up the settings properly so it recognises the downbeat correctly, please?

Hi @PoyTB, there are no settings to change how the system recognizes downbeats.
