EchoVerb Out FX tail when switching ON/OFF

Hello

I’m using Djay Pro version 5.6.2 on Windows 11 24H2.

I’ve noticed that the EchoVerb Out effect mutes feedback when turned off. It would be great if it behaved like other effects, such as the regular Echo Out—if you turn it on and then off, the feedback remains in the background.

I use the EchoVerb Out effect a lot, and it’s annoying that I have to remember to leave the effect on until the feedback ends, otherwise, when I turn it off, I hear it suddenly cut off.

I don’t know if this is an intended effect or a bug. I recorded a video of the behavior.

Hi @Damian_Zbroinski, thanks for the video. This is expected behavior. You need to let the FX tail finish before you turn the FX Off.

So why do the feedback from other effects, like Echo Out, still work when turned off? Why might EchoVerb work the same way? It’s essentially the same ECHO with added reverb.

Thanks for the clarification @Damian_Zbroinski. I watched your video more closely and tested this on my end as well. I see what you’re saying. I suspect this is because of the reverb component of the Echo Out. I’ll pass this onto our development team for confirmation though. I’ll report back when I have more news. Thanks!

Hi again @Damian_Zbroinski, turns out this was unexpected behaviour. Good catch! Our engineering team has identified the issue and is working on a fix which should be included in an upcoming update (likely 5.6.3). Thanks!
