Hi Algoriddim community,
My name is Patricio Zambrano, and I’m currently using djay Pro on macOS with a Hercules DJ Console 4-Mxcontroller. I’m working on a custom MIDI mapping to optimize my performance workflow, and one of the most important things for me is having precise and smooth pitch fader control.
The Issue:
The Hercules 4-Mx controller is capable of sending 14-bit high-resolution MIDI messages by combining CC#00 (MSB) and CC#40 (LSB).
This should ideally give me fine pitch resolution — but in djay Pro, it seems like these messages are only interpreted as 7-bit, which results in less accurate pitch adjustments.
I’ve tried using Bome MIDI Translator Pro to combine the MSB + LSB and send an absolute CC value, but it would be great to avoid third-party tools if djay Pro already supports (or could support) this natively.
What I’m Looking For:
A way to enable 14-bit MIDI pitch control inside djay Pro
Or, if it’s not possible directly, the option to send my
.djayMidiMapping
file to the Algoriddim team so they can manually update it
Additional Context:
- Controller: Hercules DJ Console 4-Mx
- MIDI Channel: 1
- Pitch fader sends: CC#00 (MSB) + CC#40 (LSB)
- Platform: macOS running djay Pro AI
- I already have a 7-bit mapping working, but I’d love higher resolution
If anyone from Algoriddim is reading this, I’d really appreciate your help. I read that you previously offered to convert mappings to 14-bit manually (via adrian@algoriddim.com
, which no longer seems active). I’m happy to send you the file if needed.
Thanks so much for your time and support
