EQ Reset Issue on Track Load Denon SC Live

Hi Algoriddim Support Team,

I am writing to report a persistent issue regarding the EQ behavior in djay Pro for Windows while using my Denon SC Live controller.

The Issue

Every time I load a new track onto a deck, the EQ settings automatically reset to zero (neutral) in the software. This happens even though I have specific transition settings disabled.

Troubleshooting Already Performed

  1. Settings Check: I have already gone into the settings and disabled/unchecked the option “Reset EQ, effects, and controls on track load.” Despite this, the EQ continues to reset.

  2. Mixer Mode: I have attempted to switch between Internal and External Mixer modes. Even in External Mixer mode, the software EQ visualizers and processing seem to reset upon loading a new file.

  3. Hardware Sync: I have ensured my Denon SC Live is running the latest firmware, but the software behavior remains inconsistent with my physical knob positions.

Environment

  • Device: Denon SC Live

  • OS: Windows 11

  • Software: djay Pro (latest version)

This issue makes it very difficult to perform seamless transitions, as the audio profile jumps back to neutral as soon as a new track is loaded, regardless of where the physical hardware knobs are positioned.

Could you please let me know if this is a known bug with the Denon SC Live MIDI mapping on Windows, or if there is a specific configuration I should change to ensure the EQ “stays put” or follows the hardware’s physical position?

Looking forward to your help.

Hi @Giacomo_Modenesi, welcome to the Community! thanks for the details about your setup and the issue - this is very helpful! With you controller connected, can you please share screenshots of your:

  1. djay Settings>General
  2. Settings>Audio Devices
  3. If you are using Crossfader FX please share a screenshot of the CFX dropdown menu
  4. Also, it would be helpful if you could share a short screen recording of this happening. Thanks!

EDIT: Please also note that the Denon SC Live is an Internal Mixer Mode ONLY device. Please navigage to the bottom of the djay Settings>Audio Devices and select Reset to Defaults to ensure the correct audio routing is applied for your device.

Hi, thanks for the reply! I’ve attached the screenshots you requested (General, Audio Devices, and Crossfader FX) along with a short video showing the issue. As you can see, the EQ keeps modifying itself automatically. I’ve also tried resetting the settings to default as suggested. I really hope to resolve this quickly because I have an event this weekend. Thanks for your help!

You’re welcome @Giacomo_Modenesi. Thanks for the additional info. Please note that that knob is the Gain not the EQ. The EQs are 3 knobs to the right labelled High, Mid and Low.

If you do not want the Gain to change, please disable Auto Gain in the djay Settings>Sound.
