External Apps cue points sync to iOS

Hi, really liking the external apps option on djay macbook.
It is bringing through my cue points etc as expected.
What I am struggling with is the cue point from external apps are not syncing to ios devices.
Is there a way to do this?
I have icloud syncing on.
I think some tracks have the cus come through on ios but seems hit and miss.
All tracks are purchased and downloaded from beatport and added to apple music so they get uploaded too.

Hi @jimmyjamesh, welcome to the Community! You could try manually copying your djayMediaLibary database from your macOS device to your iOS device. First of all, please note that this is not an officially supported workflow by Algoriddim. This is just what I personally use. So please proceed at your own risk. We do not have an officially recommended procedure for this mainly due to the fact that there is a huge variation in how people choose to manage their music files. Also, there are restrictions imposed by iOS on how djay can work with these files.

Having said that, it basically involves 3 steps:

  1. Transfer the djay Media Library database file to the other device.
  2. Transfer the audio files to the other device (e.g. via iTunes/Music, USB drive, iCloud, etc.)
  3. Relink the audio files on the new device to the items in the media library. This is done by selecting and reimporting the files into My Collection.

Step 1 above on looks like this:

  1. Start by closing djay on both your macOS and iOS devices.
  2. On macOS, locate your djayMediaLibrary database in ~/Music>djay and copy this “Master” database file to a location on your iCloud drive (this will also act as a backup for your database).
  3. Use the Files App on your iOS device. It’s the app with the blue folder as an icon.
  4. In the left side panel under Locations, select iCloud Drive and navigate to the database file you saved above.
  5. Near the top right of this screen, press the blue Select button, then select the djayMediaLibrary file by checking the circle to the left of the file.
  6. Now at the bottom center of the screen, select the blue Move button.
  7. In the left side-bar of the next menu, under Locations, select On My iPad then djay then User Data.
  8. Press the blue Copy button at the top right of the screen, and when prompted, select Replace. It is very important that you replace the existing djay Media Library file so that it retains the exact same file name, otherwise it will create a copy with a different name and this won’t work.
  9. Once the copy is complete, you should be able to launch djay on your iOS device and it will have your My Collection playlists, Hot Cues and Saved Loops from your master macOS device.

I hope that helps!
