Your question/suggestion/feedback:
Hi everyone, completely new to this forum.

I have been playing around with Algoriddim for the last year with the Hercules control mix and now just got the FLX4 for my bday!

Some questions:

Some controls on the controller don’t seem to influence the laptop behavior?
The Master level for example doesn’t change the volume. When I went into midi settings and turned the knob it didn’t select it for remapping. Same for the Mic level and the headphone “Mix” knob. DO these only control the sound levels from the controller’s internal sound card?

The track selection knob and load buttons seem to only work on the music library section of the windows app. However I am making my first play list and would want to load tracks from the play list. But whenever I am in the playlist and use the track selection know or load buttons it changes the “focus” in the windows app and moves the selection to the music library section. Am I doing something wrong? One plus from this controller is the ability to control track seelction without having to touch your laptop but if it can only be done from the playlist that would be less ideal…

My first 15 min set is coming soon!

Some controls will not send info to the computer. They are hardware controls.

Before USB, even before MIDI, everything on a piece of equipment was a hardware control. The hardware didn’t need to be connected to a computer. It worked on its own.

Nowadays we have a mixture. Some things are purely controllers, where every knob and button sends data to the computer. Others are a mixture of data controls and hardware controls.

Thanks for that info, I figured as much, would be nice if somehow a control could still be remapped when in USB mode or something but I guess that is Pioneer’s choice in this case.

Thanks !

Hi @Kempermanjjr, welcome to the Community!

Yes, these controls control the internal soundcard of the FLX4 so if you are using your laptop speakers for output instead of speakers connected to the hardware, these will appear to do nothing.

This sounds like unexpected behavior. Can you please make sure you are using the latest FLX4 firmware from Pioneer and the (built-in) MIDI mapping in djay? If that doesn’t help, can you please try to capture a short video of the issue, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? Thanks!

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
