Four Deck Controller Tempo Fader Question

Greetings! Seriously thinking about getting a four deck controller. I’m curious to know how the pitch fader works when switching between the four decks. For example, there’s a track loaded in deck 2 at 100 bpm. I then load a track in deck 4 at 95 bpm. I adjust the pitch fader +5 to match deck 2 at 100.

What happens when I switch back to deck 2 with the pitch fader at +5? What is the functionality on that end? Do I have to pitch down back to 0 for the software to catch? Or will it speed up deck 2 when I switch to it?

I just realized I could use sync in this situation but still curious how everything works before I take the plunge. Any experience with this? Anybody?

Hi @DJ_A_Diffrance, typically this is handled with “soft takeover”. Basically the tempo will not start moving until you have moved the physical fader on the controller to the matching position of the onscreen fader. djay displays a “Ghost Fader” to help with the re-alignment.
