"FX-enabled" MIDI output gets reset when making assignment

  • Device model: iPad Air (2024)
  • Version of operating system: iOS 17.6
  • Version of djay: EDIT: 5.2.1 not 5.1.2
  • Hardware/controllers used: Xone K2
  1. Configured MIDI action “FX 1 Enabled” MIDI Out
  2. Enable FX 1 in UI (MIDI output message (data: 127) sent correctly on MIDI channel)
  3. Change assignment of FX1 (e.g. from Deck to Percussion)

Expect: no new MIDI output message on MIDI channel configured for FX 1 Enabled.
Actual: MIDI output message data: 0 sent on MIDI channel configured for FX 1 Enabled.

This has the effect of turning off the light on the button configured on the Xone K2 for FX 1 Enabled, despite FX 1 still being enabled.

Thanks for the video @wasabidj, this is very helpful. Can you please confirm that you are using djay 5.1.2 and not 5.2.1? I was able to reproduce this on djay 5.2.1, but wanted to confirm we are on the same version. Thanks! Also, I have forwarded everything to engineering for review and comment. I’ll report back when I have news.
