Generic MIDI device discovery on Android

I have been playing around with some interesting portable DJ ideas, with the latest involving an old android phone in a 3D printed enclosure, with USB C hub attached for I/O. I am using a Pixle 6 Pro.

However, when I connect my MIDI controller, Djay does not recognize it and I cannot load in anything. I tried transferring over the midi mapping file, but cannot open it the same way that I would on iOS or Mac.

I downloaded a MIDI monitor app and can see that the controller is reporting data to the phone.

Is there anything I can do to connect this controller, or do I have to pivot towards using an old iOS device?

Hi @shmimel, custom MIDI mapping on Android is not currently supported.

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
