After my trusty old Griffin iMic stopped working simultaneously with the iPad’s headphone jack after the iOS8 update and still haven’t been fixed, I finally gave up and bought the Griffin DJ Connect.
It was rather good, but it started acting up almost immediately, and now less than two months old it sort of stopped working all together. There was no sound through the main outs, and if I unplugged and re-plugged the lighting cable, there was sound. But very disorted and totally unusable. The distortion was both in main out and in headphones.
And now to the weird part:
If I connect headphones to the iPad when the DJ Connect is connected, I can choose headphones as output option (along with DJ Connect 1-2 and 3-4).
And the iPad headphone out works at the same time as the headphone out (3-4) on the Griffin DJ Connect!!! So why isn’t it working with the iMic, I now wonder?
For now I seem to have a working solution for tonight’s gig, but the Griffin DJ Connect needs to go back for repair. So I will again be without a working solution for my iPad. DJAY has been a total pain fest since the iOS8 upgrade for me, which is a shame, chause when it’s working I really love it. But 6 months of constant issues (and having to spend extra money etc) is really starting to take it’s toll.
