Hercules DjConsolle RMX2 in 2026

Hi, over the last year I’ve been wanting to give a second life to consoles from 10+ years ago and thanks to DjayPro pro this is absolutely pleasant, partly from a perspective of saving and reusing and partly because the market today is full of very expensive but low-quality toys, so after two Denon MC6000mk2 here I am, I’ve resurrected an Hercules RMX2 that had been kept for a decade in some French closet and bought for next to nothing on Vinted!

Unfortunately with this one it wasn’t as simple as with the Denon where everything worked perfectly from the first connection, specifically the console has full functions only with Djuced, with VDj the LED meters work but it is not possible to use the inputs channels, with DjayPro neither the inputs nor the LED meters nor the microphone volume work despite it being a supported console, then I had a problem with the master output connecting it to an iPad (Air5 M1) then I understood the reason, below is the solution and also an updated midi map with the latest features such as stems…I know that the console is old and not very widespread by now but maybe it can be useful to someone.

The reason why the volume did not come out of the master output is due to this slider present in the iOS26 quick controls, basically it must be at maximum, if it is even just a hair below you will not hear anything and I recommend starting the program first and then connecting the console to the iPad, this will avoid malfunctions. :backhand_index_pointing_down:t2:

Finally, here is an updated midi map with the latest DjayPro features. Here is the list of changes:

- Neural mix Mute on the EQ kill buttons

- Toggle Neural Mix/EQ switches Source 1/2

- In the Loop section 1) Loop in/out 2) Loop off 3) Reloop 4) Auto loop (the duration can be set with the knob above the pads)

- In the Effect section 1) Activate FX1 2) Activate FX2 3) Activate FX3 4) Turntable stop

- the arrows above the jog dials now work well for moving forward or backward in the track. Unfortunately, when you activate the microphone, the master volume is lowered a bit and it is not possible to adjust the microphone volume. :smiling_face_with_tear:

I hope this post can help someone reuse this beautiful little beast, which is a few years old but absolutely valid and at a super affordable price!

Nice, thanks for sharing PK

Ah ok, I hadn’t looked into it in depth, my goal is to use it with iPad and Djay Pro :+1:t2:

Djay pro giving life to or updating old hardware is a very underrated feature of djay pro.

In my experience it’s put controllers like the wego4 and even the numark platinum fx on the same level if not better than the very popular flx4

However, the basis of this is people’s lack of desire to adapt and discover new horizons. For example, if you take a FLX-10 with an iPad and DayPro, you basically have more functions than an AZ, at half the price!

Djay pro + iPad mini or even a iPhone max is basically the screen part of an all in one but detachable and in some cases way more advanced.

Hi, I wanted to ask you, are the MIDI maps the same for iPad and MacBook? If so, how can I upload the modified map to the iPad so I can have the same controls on the MacBook as well?

Thanks

Hi @Scoop, yes they are the same. Simply copy your macOS mapping into the main djay folder on your iOS device.

Using the Files App, navigate to Locations->On My iPhone/iPad->djay->

You can also share from macOS and click on the file in iOS to install:

Probably something went wrong with the translator … I have to do the reverse from iPad to Mac

The process is basically the same. Share from iOS then double-click on the file once copied to macOS.

I had no idea we could do this. This is going to save me some time.

Happy to help @eyeseeyou01

Can this be copied amongst my devices as well to sync playlists and other data?
