Your question:
*5.1.2
*Macbook Pro
*beatsource
I notice if I have different versions of the same song, e.g. I wanna dance with somebody (intro edit) and I wanna dance with somebody (album version) that when I set cue points to one song, say the intro version, it tries to mirror them in the album version. This would be amazing if they lined up properly (they’re 1/2 to a full beat off). It doesn’t seem like the end of the world, but when you fix one of the tracks, the other track is altered and thus off. Therefore I’m unable to set cue points for both tracks. ATM I’m only noticing this in my Beatsource folders, which is my source of dj music.
Thanks for sharing the details about your setup and the issue @jmoak311. Can you please try to capture a video of the issue, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? Thanks!
The version on the left is the intro edit and the version on the right is the album edit. Notice the cue points have copied, but they are out of beat. If I try to adjust them, the other track is affected. These are beatsource folders but I noticed it in other folders too.
You’ll notice I’ve gone ahead to try and reset the first cue point of the radio edit on the right and it reset the cue point of the intro edit on the left.
It’s looks as if I don’t actually name the cue point, (see track on left deck) I do so by beats not bars (long story) it seems to work.
Thanks for the additional info and screenshots @jmoak311. This is super helpful. I’ve passed this onto our engineering team to see if they can replicate this and offer any suggestions. I’ll report back when I have news. Thanks!

I’m still having this very interesting cue point issue. Do you remember seeing anyone else having this issue?
Hi @jmoak311, you’re the only one that I know of with this issue. Maybe you could try adding these songs to My Collection and rename one of them to see if that works.
All of my serato crates naturally transferred in to the My Collection section. Mostly I use Beatsource, but even updating a Beatsource track can change the meta data in a physically downloaded version. It’s as if the program can’t differentiate the metadata between the two songs but I’m not a software engineer.
I did see other people having issues like I did in the second photo (where it’s not recognizing “my crates”)
But they’ve all propagated in the my collection section so I’m not losing any sleep over it.
But then randomly two similar tracks won’t affect one another.
Thanks for the additional info and screenshots @jmoak311. I’ve shared these with engineering.

Do you think by deleting the app and reinstalling would fix, or would I lose all of my Beatsource cue points? I’ve spent hours redoing them and don’t want to risk losing them.
I’m also wondering if that would fix the shrinking of the library text size when I switch to day mode.
Hi @jmoak311, I don’t think so. However, if you want to try this, please do the following:
Backup your djay Media Library database and any custom MIDI mappings. You can find these files in the following locations:
-
iOS: using the Files App, navigate to Locations->On My iPhone/iPad->djay->User Data
-
macOS: https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014912211-Where-does-djay-Pro-store-playlists-cue-points-and-other-data-on-my-Mac
-
Windows: https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014912131-Where-does-djay-Pro-store-cue-points-and-other-metadata
- Copy the files to a new location or external drive before uninstalling djay. After reinstallation, you can simply copy these files back to their original locations to maintain your Hot Cues, Saved Loops, My Collection Playlists, History and Queue.
I’m more than a little nervous to try this, for fear of losing my streaming crates cue points, although I do have a time machine backup. It’s just crazy that I’m the only person this has happened to. I’m not sure if this helps you or the engineering team, but someone in a different thread recommended that I use “mix master g’s” app when I was trying to transfer over cue points from Beatsource. Ultimately, the service did not work and deleted the app. Although the service did not work, do you think there’s a chance that it somehow wrote a code into the program that is affecting the cue points system? I deleted that app but I’m not sure if it was properly uninstalled. I’m not expecting you to troubleshoot a third party app, I know that’s not your problem, but wonder if anyone else has mentioned trying to use the app. I may go back and look up that thread. Just passing this info along as it could be helpful to the team. Thank you for all of your help and happy holidays.
Hi @jmoak311, you’re welcome. I doubt that DJCU did anything to affect the djay application, but perhaps it did something to your djay Media Library database. Can you please upload this file to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to it in a DM to me? Then I can pass it onto engineering so they can check for any issues. On macOS, you can find the file here: ~/Music/djay/

I won’t be home from work for a few hours but I should be able to get back you by EOD. I’m not exactly tech-savvy, where will I be uploading said file? Is the file what I’ve typed below?
~/Music/djay/

You will need to upload the file to your personal cloud storage like iCloud, Dropbox or Google Drive. Then share a link to the file here. The file is called “djay Media Library” and it can be found in the ~/Music/djay/
folder on your Mac.

When I click the djay image it just opens the app. I’m sorry for the inconvenience but I’m just not quite sure what to do.
Should I have so files labeled “djay Media Library?”
