Hot Cues changing location slightly

Hi, thanks for the follow up… The thing is that once I fix a “broken” song (I reset the CUEs properly), it stays in place for ever.

Above you see two bad cues in the same song, but if I reset the position (so far) it will never go bad again.

You’re welcome @DjLemart. Okay, thanks.

Hi @DjLemart, did you maybe set the cue points on different versions of the songs? For example, did you set the cue points on the streamed version of the song and now you’re using local version of the same songs that are offset?

Yes, let me show you same song… On left deck the streaming version (from SoundCloud GO+), on the right Downloaded version in my internal SDD. You can check cues are not the same for both versions (the one on the left only has 3 count in and the one on the right has 4 out cues and the end of the song):

The image below shows that the local (downloaded) version still has the CUES slightly out of place on the end of the song; because I fixed the first 3 cues but I didn’t fixed the last 4 cues (you only see a blue cue as I need to zoom in for you to appreciate it:

If I fix the last wrong cues (which I’ve already done) it will stay in place for ever (hope so!).

Thanks again for your kind support.

Thanks for the additional info and screenshots.

Hi Slak_Jaw
Im not sure if the new I issue I found is related to this one.

I set cue points on my tracks and if I restart DJay pro 5.3.2
the cue points have all moved slightly.
when I correct them, restart djay pro they move and the cue points are not locked, sometimes this happens to grids as well.

just to add this doesnt happen with older versions like 5.2.10

Hi @eecy_cee, I moved your comment to this topic as I believe this is the same issue. Please see above and let me know. If you could share some screenshots or a short video as well, that would be great.

@Slak_Jaw I have been having the same issue.

Hi @illya_kroon, is this with streaming songs or local music? If streaming, which service? Have you recently changed the quality settings of your streaming songs?

Slack_Jaw with streaming songs. With Tidal. I haven’t change any settings. This happened since the last update

Yes this is definitely a Tidal issue. Seems to be worse since the last update.

Thanks for the additional info @illya_kroon and @SamJam

Im starting to think this as well, im not having issues with local files.

I can confirm this is a Tidal and DJay Pro issue, My local music never has this problem, I’ve gone back to Tidal playlists that I have corrected cue points and grids and they’ve all drifted. I guess maybe Tidal refreshes their tracks or replace them hence why the grids are never locked, Maybe allow track grids to be locked in place with a padlock like Serato. but even the locked grid tracks in Serato still drift.

Thanks for the additional info @eecy_cee

Here is my issue. The tracks in question are “Rock DJ - Robbie Williams” and “Crazy in Love - Beyonce” when changing tidal streaming between high quality and standard Tidal will move cue points and sometimes move the grid by a whole beat. Hope this helps identify any issues.

Hi @SamJam, this is expected behavior when changing the streaming quality in Tidal. It’s recommended that you choose a quality setting and not change it.

Yes that’s what I try to do. Thanks.
