How to crossfade without changing tempo / pitch

Your question:

I never, ever want the tempo of a song to change. I don’t want any beat matching or pitch control. I want to play songs as they are, at their normal, 100% speed.

When I do cross fading from one track to the next, the pitch slider is changed to match the tempo of the previous song.

How do I disable this?

Hi @jsit, welcome to the Community! Sounds like you have Crossfader FX enabled with Tempo Blend. Please try turning them off.

You’re welcome @jsit. Please switch to Classic or Pro mode to access the CFX menu as shown above along with sync controls.

@Slak_Jaw Is there no way to turn off beat matching in starter mode?

No, the Starter Mode is designed for beginners and automatically beat matches the songs. Many of the controls are intentionally removed to maximize simplicity and ease of use for beginners. If you want to use djay without sync / automatic beat matching you need to use one of the other view modes. I recommend you use Classic Mode as it is the closest to Starter Mode.
