How to MIDI map or edit mic settings on Traktor Kontrol S2mk3?

Thank you for the recent upgrade that group mix functionality to the Traktor Kontrol S2mk3.

My question is about the settings I discovered while mapping some midi settings. I was hoping to use the sample volume knob for the mic volume.

However, the settings seen bellow are not accessible. I can’t select the microphone as the target.

Unless I’m mistaken?

Hi @Craig_Dean_the_DJ, when creating new topics, please do not forget to answer the questions in our template with specific details about your setup not just “iPad” or “Latest Version”. This helps all of our community moderators to provide the most effective support to users with the utmost efficiency. Thanks!

Device Model (ex. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen):
Version of operating system (ex. iOS 17.3.1):
Version of djay (ex. 5.1.3):
Hardware/controllers used (ex. Reloop Ready):
Hardware Firmware Version (ex. 2.7):

Also, I’m a bit confused by your statement:

In the shared screen shot you already have the Target set to Microphone. Can you please clarify? Thanks!

Apologies @Slak_Jaw , I missed a few crucial details when sending this from my phone.

Let me try that again (from a computer with a screen and keyboard)

Device Model: 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen):
Version of operating system: iPadOS 17.6.1
Version of djay: 5.2.4
Hardware/controllers used: Native Instruments Kontrol S2 Mk3
Hardware Firmware Version: 0.3.7 (I think)

Question: How do I select the microphone as the target when creating a midi mapping?

Problem: Microphone does not appear in the target list when trying to map other buttons to control microphone functions and settings.

Additional info:
Recently the microphone functionality was improved for the Traktor Kontrol s2Mk3. This is how I discovered these midi settings. I can duplicate the mapped setting (seen in picture), but this is locked to the button already mapped. I can’t map other settings to other buttons or knobs due to the lack of ability to select microphone as a source and settings within.

Hi @Craig_Dean_the_DJ, thanks for the additional details. Is the S2 in MIDI Mode when you are trying to customize the MIDI mapping?

Yes, I always put the controller into midi mode when using Djay.

I thought it won’t function at all when not in midi mode.

Thanks for the additional info @Craig_Dean_the_DJ. I need to pass this onto our engineering team to see if they can replicate this and offer any suggestions as I don’t have access to this specific hardware. I’ll report back here when I have news. Thanks!

Thank you @Slak_Jaw , I really appreciate that.

I’m happy to film a video and outline the reproduction steps etc.

You’re welcome @Craig_Dean_the_DJ. A video is always helpful…

Hi again @Craig_Dean_the_DJ, just following up to see if you were able to capture a video of this. Thanks!

I did, however…

Hi @Craig_Dean_the_DJ, don’t worry about the video. The team was able to identify the issue. It will be addressed in an upcoming update (likely 5.2.6). Thanks!
