Hi, how do i match the physical and virtual mixers to see them as
1 2 3 4 instead of 3 1 2 4. That will make my life so easier !
Wow. Why is this disable /unavailable ? I like this software and I’m considering to switch from Traktor but this limitation sucks. I’m sure its also deal breaker for many other users. For djs who play with 4 decks/techno djs working with 1234 makes all the sense in the world. it’s just a better work flow. I think this is one of the big reasons, Traktor still the way to go for techno djs. You should consider enable the decks swap ASAP. Slak_Jaw, thank you for your prompt reply.
It’s using the standard model for controllers that have decks “A/C” on the left and “B/D” on the right.
It’s not that hard to get your head around, the two on the left are still on the left and the two on the right are still on the right.
To your example, the “A” and “B” in Traktor are at the “top” and the “C” and “D” are at the bottom, still in the same orientation in the GUI.
The standard is different. In the beginning (many years ago) I also found this strange, but after a short time it was no longer a problem. But I can also understand that it is a change, especially for Traktor users, and the possibility of changing that in Djay would be a good idea. But you could also approach Traktor the other way round and ask them to adapt to the general standard …
Would love to have this on iOS, 3124 makes sence with a 4 channel unit but if you like to add a extra unit to a 2 channel one then it gets messy.
Example: you have a Mixtour Pro and add a lets say K2 next to it (or another Mixtour), there is no way of remapping all global controls on the Mixtour Pro even if you want. So you are kind of stuck with 1234 if you got 2 units.
So it would be so much easier with addon controllers if you could change between 3124 and 1234
I agree, but how many users might there be who actually use such a setup with two controllers? I can’t imagine that there are that many.
Well, maybe not but think there can be many Traktor users that could give Djay Pro a go, they are used to the modular way with X1/Z1/F1 and multiple units for quite some times. Also when “regular” people starts to experiment more with stems, they sure will give the 4-deck mode a chance and not all are going to upgrade to a larger 4-channel controller but might just add a Midi Fighter or similar to existing setup.
Myself went from vinyl in the 90s to CDJ’s, never a fan of laptop, even though I got a few controllers because I like to test things, I use standalones on smaller gigs. I revisited Djay Pro on iOS again this year when I gave my old DDJ 1000 to my kids, so with the iPad as screen (and audiocard as it’s not class compliant), it really gave my standalones a run for the money. So been looking for a true compact setup since but many fall short with the 3124 layout.
Well enough ranting, hope to see it in the future
