Icloud is done for djay pro ipad?

YOUR QUESTION:

  1. what is going on with folderrs and songs grayed out on ipad pro m1 whti djay pro ??

  2. i have not played some time but now cannot use my librarry and can only play song that are on the ipad ??

  3. if that is so than something has change or am i seeing something not ?

  4. even addng new folser and can play but after reloading djay all again grayed out ??

Hi @johnnyboyx, nothing has changed with iCloud on our side. Please note that djay can only play a file that’s physically downloaded to the iPad, so anything living only in iCloud Drive shows greyed out. The reason they go grey again after a relaunch is iPadOS: when storage gets tight it offloads local copies of iCloud Drive files on its own, and djay just sees them as unavailable.

The fix is on the Files app side:

  1. Open Files > iCloud Drive, touch and hold your music folder, tap Download Now, and wait for it to finish.
  2. Touch and hold the same folder again and enable Keep Downloaded so iPadOS stops evicting it.
  3. Re-add it in djay if needed via Files > + > Add Folder.

If your collection is big, the more reliable route is keeping it in On My iPad or on an external SSD rather than iCloud Drive. Worth noting djay never copies your music — it only references the original location, so wherever those files sit needs to stay available.

Could you also please fill in your iPadOS and djay versions numbers plus your free storage space available? That’ll tell us whether this is purely the offloading behaviour or something else. I hope that helps!

have ipad pro M1 2019. and have already made a old hdd to exFAT formatted and workd fine that way, there is a ssd on the way to use that ..the HDD was just for testing. and can switch now easely form pc to ipad. so thkx for advice … only have an othe problem wiht midi mapping files .. i copied from ipad to pc but the midi devices like lauch control xl has no action showing . but control and target does show… version are the same of djay, names of file also the same as device.. tried add new file with 1 controllerr slider .copied the hole text form ipad file to pc file but also same result so dont know whats going one here. ..
