Import from Crate Hackers

I hope for the day when I can export from Crate Hackers into DJay! I don’t want to use the Music/iTunes app as the middle man. I’m told by the Crate Hackers developers that this is an Algoriddim hurdle as their software can export to Serato, Virtual, and Tractor.

I can make my own crates in the DJay software without using iTunes, and maybe I’m being simple here, but I it seems like we shouldn’t have to utilize the seperate software (even if it is built in to our MacOS).

Thanks for the suggestion @djgdiddy. Good idea. I have forwarded this to the dev team for consideration. In the meantime, please use the blue Vote button at the top left of this page so we can gauge user demand for this feature. Thanks!

@Slak_Jaw what is Algoriddim’s thinking on this? Independent syncing just never seems to get any attention. Why is this?

Crate Hackers is not the answer to this at $300 per year, but I would pay a reasonable price to Algoriddim or another 3rd party (assuming compatibility) to not have to rely on iTunes to sync my playlists.

Hi @N_C, our dev team is looking at options for improving library import/syncing. Other than Crate Hackers, what other 3rd party solutions would you like to see?

@N_C I use Crate Hackers for a lot more than just library management. Ultimately, I want my Algoriddim library to not be reliant on iTunes. I use DJ Event Planner, and now Crate Hackers can import my client’s music and create a crate with just a couple mouse clicks vs. finding and adding each song individually. Crate Hackers can direct import to Serato and Virtual DJ, so this puts Algoriddim behind the curve for integration. This feature would be such a time saver for me.
