Import MIDI Mapping from Different MIDI Device

Hello everyone, so allow me to explain my situation

I uses TouchOsc vie bluetooth midi to control djay, I’ve made a mapping for it and now I wanna create a backup incase something happens and I need to connect via cable

but somehow. via cable and via bluetooth my iPad shows as different devices, my question is

can I import my already made iPad Via Bluetooth mapping to my cable connected iPad bluetooth mapping, if can, how?

thank you

Hi @echa0361, I’m not 100% sure as I don’t personally use MIDI bluetooth connection. However, I see no reason why the same mapping wouldn’t work.

For more on sharing your MIDI mappings on macOS, please refer to the linked topic below from the macOS user manual:

What i mean is i want to load a mapping made with my ipad bluetooth, into my cabled setup

Because when i use wireless and cabled, my ipad is recognized as a different device, wirelss my ipad is recognize as Echa Ipad Bletooth , and when i use cable its recogmize as Echa’s Ipad and i get a blank midi mapping page

I can remap it button by button, but on my wirless ive extensively mapped my ipad, i wanna know if its possible to import my Echa Ipad Bluettoth mappong, to my Echa’s Ipad Mapping

Thank you

Ah, I see what you mean @echa0361. Thanks for clarifying. In this case, you will need to create a new mapping if djay sees it as a different device.

Okay, thanks for the clear up, ill re map those again

You’re welcome @echa0361
