Improve Spotify searching and browsing

I love the Spotify integration in DJay Pro, it’s really a standout feature. I have a few suggestions that would make it even better:

  • Sorting columns in the Spotify search results: when searching in Spotify (so not in a spotify playlist) the results are displayed without an option to sort columns. When searching in a Spotify playlist, you do get the option to sort on columns in the search results. I would love to see the same option in the “search spotify” results.

  • I am a big fan of the “Artist Radio” and “Song Radio” features of Spotify. This gives me a very relevant list of related music. Having this option (maybe as a right click action?) to dynamically create search results in the spotify search inside DJay Pro would be awesome. Same request btw for clicking on an artist name and getting a list of all songs of that artist.

While it also has browsing in the title, I think this is related:

  • In Spotify I organized my playlists in folders. It would be nice if Djay is using the same folders. So you have the same structure as in the Spotify app.
  • If the above functionality is not possible, then I would like the ability to create folders within the Spotify list to organize my playlists. This is less efficient, while I have to manage the folders both on Spotify as in Djay

My workaround for now: In My collection I created a ‘Spotify‘ folder, with subfolders, which is the same as in Spotify. I dropped all the related playlists in the correct folder.

What I will need to test if this is just a copy from the playlists or some kind of link. What happens when I add or remove tracks in Spotify, will it reflect the playlist in ‘My collection as well‘ I will report back on this

Thanks for sharing your workaround @EwoutdeBoer. Changes that you make to your Spotify playlists outside of djay will not automatically update the playlists you made in My Collection. There is no link.
