iOS and multiple midi controller support?

  • Device model 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen
  • Version of operating system iOS 18.4
  • Version of djay 5.3
  • Hardware/controllers used DDJ-FLX4

Your question:
In iOS is it possible to connect an additional midi controller such as a midifighter in order to assign encoders to handle the neural mix stems while keeping the DDJ-FL4 I already have?

Hi @jorgelectro, welcome to the Community! Yes, this is definitely possible. I use a Midi Fighter Spectra and Midi Fighter Twister along with a Reloop Mixtour Pro with no issues. You will, however, need a powered USB-C hub to connect everything to your iPad.

Hi,

Can you show me your exact setup ? and which adapters usb/lightning you bought ?

I have reloop mixtour pro + djay for ipad (lightning connection) and what to add Midi Fighter Twister.

Thanks in advance

Hi @Emmanuel_Lecerf, welcome to the Community! I don’t recommend this with a Lightning socket iPad. Apple doesn’t make an official adapter with multiple USB sockets so you would need to find a 3rd party adapter. Many of these are unreliable and not suitable for mission critical performance. I recommend that you use an iOS device with a USB-C socket if possible.
