iPad Air, latest iOS 8.3 and Numark iDJ Live II not connecting

controller works fine with djay 2 app on my iPhone 6 Plus, same cable.
But not on my iPad.
I did reinstall the app on my iPad, but no change. No MIDI controller will show up.
What can I do?

Can you please open the iPad preferences > “General” > “About”. Is the iDJ Live II listed here?
