iPad App & Novation Launch Control XL Mk2 to map midi controls for Effekts?

Is it possible to use the Novation Launch Control XL MK2 with the iPad App to map MIDI Controls?

I find it fantastic what you can do with the 2D Pads in the App however I’d like to be able to control additional effects with a hardware midi controler! How is this possible?
