Unable to disable MIDI control for CDJ-3000 while connected via USB hub (Serato setup)

I am using djay Pro on my iPad with a Pioneer DJ DJM-S11 and CDJ-3000s connected via a USB hub (as I also use this setup for Serato).
USB A: Serato
USB B: Djay Pro
The issue is that djay Pro automatically forces the CDJ-3000 as the primary MIDI control device when I switch from USB A to B, and there is currently no option in the MIDI settings to disable or deselect a specific connected MIDI device (like the CDJ-3000) without physically unplugging it. Since I cannot unplug the CDJs due to my multi-app workflow, djay Pro keeps capturing the CDJ inputs instead of fully prioritizing the DJM-S11.
Could you please advise how to exclude or disable specific MIDI devices within the app, or consider adding a toggle to enable/disable individual connected hardware? Or tell me what I‘m doing wrong?
You’re not doing anything wrong. djay for iOS doesn’t currently have a way to disable an individual connected MIDI device. Dashboard > Settings > MIDI devices lets you edit a device’s mapping, but there’s no on/off switch per device. It’s also worth noting that CDJ-3000 integration is officially supported on Mac and Windows, not iOS. On your iPad, the DJM-S11 is the piece of that setup djay is built to work with.
In the meantime, you can try giving the CDJ-3000 a “blank” configuration so its controls don’t do anything in djay:
Go to Dashboard > Settings > MIDI devices and tap the CDJ-3000.
Tap Edit, select the current configuration and choose Duplicate.
Rename it (something like “CDJ off”), remove all the mapped controls, and tap Save.
Make sure that blank configuration is the active one.
The original mapping stays intact, so you can switch back anytime.
A per-device enable/disable toggle is a great idea. Feel free to post it in the Suggestions category so other users can vote on it.

Your djay version and iPad model/iPadOS version
Whether the CDJs are plugged into the S11’s rear CDJ/CONTROLLER USB ports, or into a separate USB hub
What actually happens after you switch to USB B: does the S11 stop responding completely, or do both units control djay?
Thanks a lot for your fast answer. I was surprised cause withe the DJM A9 there is no issue to use it seperatly. So maybe it because of the internal USB Hub of the S11.
So i try to explain:
I connected the USB A to Serato and USB B to Djay Pro.
Linked the CDJs to the Mixers USB Hub
Channels are set to USB A and in Djay Pro there is the S11 as Midi Source.
As soon I switch the Channel to USB B (the Djay pro Channel) the S11 in the Djay Pro iOs App is not visible anymore and I can only use the CDJ3000 as „audiosource“. This is stupid cause everthing is empty and no midi mappings listed. So it looks like the CDJ3000 beats the S11 and delete it completly from the midi and audiosource list…
When I go back to Channel A the S11 shows up again in the list…
Hi again @djscode, thanks for the detailed breakdown, that really helps! I think you’re right about the S11’s internal hub. The S11 manual says that turning the input selector switches forcibly disconnects devices on the rear CDJ/CONTROLLER ports from the connected computer. So when you switch the channels to USB B, the CDJ-3000s get moved over to your iPad along with everything else. That would also explain why the A9 behaves differently, since your CDJs aren’t going through its USB ports.
The CDJ-3000 isn’t supported in djay on iOS, which is why it shows up with no MIDI mappings. What we don’t know yet is why the S11 disappears from the list when that happens. Could you please try a couple of quick tests?
Connect just one CDJ-3000 to the S11’s hub, then switch to USB B. Does the S11 still disappear?
With both CDJs connected and the channels on USB B, force-close djay and reopen it. Does the S11 come back?
Unplug both CDJs from the S11’s hub and switch to USB B. Does the S11 stay in the list? This confirms whether the CDJs are what’s causing it.

S11 firmware version number
In the meantime, one option is to plug the CDJs directly into your Serato computer instead of the S11’s CDJ/CONTROLLER ports. That way, switching to USB B only hands the S11 to your iPad. Before you rely on it at a gig, check with Serato that this works with your setup.
