Your question:

Hi,

When using djay (even for simple operations eg. bpm and sfx), it is normal that the battery draining fast and the phone heat, sometimes djay crash. I have noticed that issue since few month on my 14 Pro Max already. Restart the phone, uninstall app, won’t help.

Thanks !

iPhone 16 pro max, iOS 18.0.1, djay 5.2.4, Bluetooth speaker / iPhone speaker

This is a very worrying report for some of us who are looking to upgrade from iphone12 to 15 or even iphone 16 in order to gain faster speeds of the A17/18 bionic chipsets, but am sure you will get a solution.

My iphone 12 heats up whenever i push it hard but thats to be expected. Pushing hard means am doing djay pro video (mp4) AND screen mirroring both the full HD and audio onto an apple tv or another mac.

Fast battery drain is a normal thing i have come to live with it ever since i moved to iPhones, and I don’t mind because pf the fast-charge capability

Hi @jcvs97ch, thanks for the details about your setup and issue.

  1. Do you have any other applications running in the background (for example iCloud backups)?
  2. Does this also happen with Bluetooth turned OFF?
  3. Are you using a DJ controller or other hardware connected to your iPhone?
  4. Does this only happen when using djay or also with other apps?
  5. Do you have iCloud sync turned ON for djay?
  6. Please close djay and follow the procedure linked below to perform a Forced Restart of your iPhone: Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Hi @Slak_Jaw @Armigo,

Thanks for replies.

  1. Even if I close all apps from the multitask, nothing happens. I have iCloud backup turned on for my iPhone but it work only when plugged to power source.
  2. Bluetooth OFF change nothing
  3. I’m using only USB-C headset or bluetooth speaker not any controller or special equipment.
  4. As I know, the only app with this behavior is djay
  5. Sync for djay with iCloud Drive is ON
  6. Have already many times closed djay, uninstalled, restarted my iPhone without results.

It seems I’m not the only one with this problem. Maybe the djay app mismanage the cpu usage or something like that ?

Thank you for your support and best regards !

Hi @jcvs97ch, thanks for the additional information. Please try turning iCloud Sync for djay OFF and let me know if that changes anything. Thanks!
