I have an issue which greatly affect my stage performance.
I was unable to load a song to the other deck with an error message:
Then the song was blackened.
It went unavailable on all of my playlists.
It happened twice today.
I reloaded the app and found out that the song is unavailable permanently.
And I went through my assets and found out that most of my songs’ artworks are blackened.
I’m hoping you can help me resolve my issue.
- iPad Pro (11-inch)(3rd generation)
- iPadOS Version 17.5.1
- Version of djay 5.2.1
I suggest you use Google to research that status error message, which will tell you why it’s happening…

I found out on google that error -54 is about permission. Thank you for the suggestion @PKtheDJ
Is there a way to prevent it from happening on Djay Pro since there is no permission option when I imported samples/songs from my files app?
I was lucky to keep my assets on my files app, otherwise, I was doomed when my songs died in Djay Pro
There is one more thing I forgot to say.
Once the other deck stops loading and I load the same songs, that’s the time when my songs gets blackened. This happens every 2 to 4 songs which prompted me to reload Djay.
Another thing is that Djay used to load so quickly. . Starting from 2 days ago I have to wait 18 secs.
I need serious help here, please
I’ve just finished my first set and I can only play 2 songs before one deck stops reloading that I have to restart the app.
This is frustrating.
Deleting the app from my iPad and reinstalling it resolved the issue.
