Issues with DDJ-REV5 Channel Setup and Crossfader Not Muting Deck 2

Hi everyone,

I’m currently using Djay Pro with a Pioneer DDJ-REV5 and having some issues with the device setup. I have Deck 1 set to channel 1-2 and Deck 2 set to channel 3-4 in external mode. However, I am experiencing the following issues:

  1. Deck 2 No Sound: While Deck 2 is set to channel 3-4, I can see the signal on the REV5, but there’s no output sound coming through the speakers.

  2. Crossfader Not Muting Deck 2: When I change Deck 2 to channel 1-2, the crossfader is not working as expected. When the crossfader is all the way to the left, it doesn’t mute Deck 2, and both decks keep playing, which makes it difficult to transition properly.

I’ve tried switching to internal mode, which makes the crossfader work perfectly, but I can’t record the mic sound when I use it that way.

I’m using a MacBook Pro 2023 and Djay Pro latest version 5.2.4.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could share their DDJ-REV5 device settings that are working well or suggest any potential solutions to these problems. I’ve updated to the latest firmware and am using Djay Pro version 5.2.4 on macOS Sonoma.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi @SimpleSimon, in the djay Settings>Audio Devices, I recommend you try Reset to Defaults.

Hi @Slak_Jaw

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried resetting the audio device settings to defaults, but the issue is still there.

In internal mode, everything works well, except that the mic doesn’t get picked up in the recordings, which limits its usefulness for me.

In external mode, the main issue is that Deck 2 (channel 3-4) is not outputting sound, even though I can see the signal. I’ve attached screenshots for reference.

I also tried a different controller (Reloop 8) and faced the same issue, but when I connect a Pioneer S9, everything works perfectly.

Please let me know if there’s anything else I should try. Thanks again for the help!
