Laggy on start up and loading tracks

I am running McBook M1 Pro 16gb ram, when I load Djay pro it is very slow and you can see Mac spinning wheel showing it thinking. Once it loads and I drag a song on to a deck it wheel again starts spin again. Every time I do something the wheel spins for a few seconds.
Please note I run my music library off an external SSD HD. However, this issues also happens when I am just trying to load from a streaming services.
Thanks

Hi @DJ_Kirk, welcome to the Community! Sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. Please follow the process below to reset the iCloud state:

  1. Quit djay.
  2. Make sure you have a backup of your djay Media Library.djayMediaLibrary file on an external drive or in the cloud.
  3. If you have previously disabled iCloud for djay Pro in System settings, please make sure it is re-enabled for djay Pro. https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014702832-How-do-I-enable-iCloud-syncing-on-iOS-and-macOS
  4. Open the app Terminal.app
  5. Run this command: defaults write com.algoriddim.djay-iphone-free CMCResetCloudKitState -bool true
  6. Launch djay

This will reset the cloudkit state and should clear up the issue. After this, it’s recommended that you leave iCloud sync for djay enabled to prevent caching of Cloudkit and the growth of the djay Media Library.

  1. Please refer to the second half of the linked FAQ for how to enable iCloud Syncing on macOS: https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014702832-How-do-I-enable-iCloud-syncing-on-iOS-and-macOS
  2. Please note, if you decide you want to keep iCloud Sync turned Off going forward, you will need to perform the above process on a semi-regular basis as your database size grows over time. Alternatively, you can keep iCloud Sync On and the cache will be automatically cleared on its own.

Thanks so much for the support but it did not work at all

I copied and paste what you sent and no change

Hi @DJ_Kirk, sorry that didn’t help. I suggest that you backup your djay Media Library database and any custom MIDI mappings, then uninstall djay, reboot your device, and reinstall the latest 5.3.3 version of djay. You can find the files above in the following location:

  1. macOS: https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014912211-Where-does-djay-Pro-store-playlists-cue-points-and-other-data-on-my-Mac
  2. Copy the files to a new location or external drive before uninstalling djay. After reinstallation, you can simply copy these files back to their original locations to maintain your Hot Cues, Saved Loops, My Collection Playlists, History and Queue.

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
