Library filters completely missing on windows

I’ve just got 5.3 on Windows (wanted to switch from Serato) and was shocked. I know that sorting by multiple columns is impossible, but people on the internet are saying that library filters can cover for this. I improvise a lot and need to be able to quickly search for music, so bpm + key sorting is essential for me. I was getting familiar with the application and wasn’t able to find the filter button, which I see literally on every DJay tutorial out there.

Do I understand correctly that library filtering is completely missing on Windows?

Is this a Mac version screenshot on the page dedicated to windows app? If so, it’s a fraud!

I’m taking this very seriously, as I’ve just paid for the whole year! There’s no monthly subscription option in MS Store!

Hi @Andrzej_Protsik, thank you for sharing your feedback, and sorry to hear about your frustration.

You’re right – there was an issue where some screenshots were mixed up on the Windows web page and I’ve let the team know. We’ve corrected this now and updated the page accordingly. (The ones on the Microsoft Store looked fine.) We sincerely apologize for the confusion and really appreciate you flagging it for us.

That said, we’re actively working on the next major update for djay Pro on Windows, and library features like improved sorting are high on our list. We know how important these tools are, and we’re aiming for as much feature parity across platforms as possible.

We’d be happy to add you to our Windows beta list once we get closer to testing the new features. Just let us know, and we’ll make sure you get early access.

Thanks again for your support and your patience.

Hi @Slak_Jaw! Is there an approximate release date available for Windows update where library filtering will be included? It’s very important to me and I can’t move from Serato until either this or multi-column sorting is done (and I doubt about multi-column sorting as people are asking for it since 2021). And yes, I would like to be included into any kind of early access. What information do I need to provide?

And since we’re talking about Windows improvements. I have few other items:

  • Neural Mix crossfaders. They’re tiny (compared to the usual crossfader).

I can’t move them with my finger (On Ipad they’re big enough to use on screen). Windows laptops with touch screens are pretty common nowadays, and I’d like to use this advantage (especially given that DJay started as a tablet/phone app, and you have experience building touch UIs).
  • In MS store there’s no monthly subscription (this can be probably fixed without release). That’s why I am so frustrated and angry. I’ve tried the free trial and when I discovered there’s no multi-column sorting, I’ve put it aside. But then 5.3 released and there were so many cool AI related features, so I decided to try again. I searched for a way to achieve something similar and learned about library filters. As my trial was off already, I subscribed (for a year) and learned that filters are not there. Now basically I’m back on Serato and waiting while my subscription is running out. Pelase look into the monthly subscribtion option for Windows users!

P.S. Even though I admire what you’ve done during past years to the app and how you influenced the world of DJing, I’m disappointed with the Windows release. I don’t understand porting the app to another OS and cutting essential features from it. And after it’s released, you keep adding new fancy AI stuff instead of prioritizing the tech debt of porting the remaining basic functions.

Hi @Andrzej_Protsik, we do not have a release date yet for these features on Windows. However, I have sent you a DM with an invitation to our beta test program. Please follow the link I shared there to submit your application.

Regarding your other suggestions, please create individual new topics for each one so we can properly track and report on them. Thanks!
