Load tracks from a CDJ-connected USB while connected to djay?

YOUR QUESTION:

  1. If I hook up my CDJs to DJay Pro on a Mac, can I still just plug in my USB and load tracks directly from it? I love the workflow of using a thumb drive, but I want to layer on DJay’s features via MIDI. Does the software actually ‘see’ the tracks when I plug the USB into the hardware?

If not this would be an amazing update. the reason I can not test this myself is I dont own CDJ I was wondering if this is possible thanks

Hi @kami_sabda, welcome to the Community! I’m pretty sure this is an either or type of scenario with CDJs. djay will not be able to ‘see’ the tracks on your USB connected to the CDJ. I guess you could have 1 CDJ running off your USB and have djay running on the other 1 or 2 CDJs. However, I don’t have access to CDJs to confirm myself.

As far as I know, currently I think only the RANE System One allows this kind of operation.
