Summary of the issue:
How to reproduce the issue:
I don’t know where to even start! Songs on my hard drive was loading like I had a slow internet service and a lot of them would not load at all. This is all at a gig. After restarting I had a couple of spinning balls then the program shuts down. I had the looping issue at least 5 times and a few other issues with sound quality distortion. My worst experience with Djay so far.
Hi @Five-0, sorry to hear you experienced this issue. It sounds like djay crashed so it could be helpful for our team to review any crash reports. Please submit an Official Support Ticket using the procedure below so the engineering team can review your crash reports in more detail.
Open the djay Pro app on your Mac.
In the top left corner of your screen, click on the portion of the menu bar that says “djay Pro”.
In the drop-down menu, click on the button that says “Provide djay Pro Feedback”.
Fill out the submission form that will pop up in your default browser and title your email "ATTN: MARIE – “The Title of your Community Topic” in the provided subject line.
In the meantime, can you please share specifics about your setup (macOS ver, djay ver, laptop details, hardware, firmware, etc.) and your local music (stored on internal drive, MP3, etc.)?
MacBook Pro M1 16gb memory Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.1 Last night using Rev 5. With dj pro 5.2.9. My songs are located in my MacBook . My music folder is around 90 gigs with MP4’s & Mp3’s
The only changes I have made from my last gig was I made 6 smart crates to help manage songs. I didn’t play live from them because it takes a few moments for the list to populate. So I transferred the songs to regular playlist. I’ve since deleted the smart list and I’m gonna see what happens at my gig this evening.
Thanks for the additional info @Five-0. I’ve passed this onto the team an asked them to keep an eye out for your support ticket.
In the meantime, if the issue happens again, can you please capture a Sample Process using Activity Monitor on your Mac while the issue is occurring?
In the Activity Monitor app on your Mac, click the System diagnostics options pop-up menu, then choose Sample Process to create a report on a selected process over a period of 3 seconds.
Then upload the report to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the file here.
I recently started color coding my songs to use with smart crates also. I deleted the smart crates. But I’ve noticed I can’t tell which tracks are no longer available on my hard drive until I try to load it. And after that it still does indicate it’s missing. In some instances I can’t remove a track from a play list. Also on some playlist contents has completely changed.
It seems smart crates was causing my issues. I would make a new playlist from the files generated by the smart list. The Apple Music files & my local files seem to get confused by djay when using smart crates or color codes Or playlist that you make from these smart playlist….If I’m off line Apple Music files appear available .
Hi @Five-0, thanks for the additional info - this is very helpful. Can you please also upload your video to your Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, and share a download link to the video here? Thanks!
Gonna try and send a new video today. I used the color code on some tracks and no matter how many time i remove the color code it just keeps coming back. Actually pops back up while I’m looking at the screen. Hit the, music icon in my collection. Color code a Group of music. Then sort by color code. Now remove the color code and sit there and watch how they just starting appearing again
