Hello, I’ve been experiencing strange issues with Looper since updating to the latest version. It simply doesn’t sync with tracks. Whatever the tempo, it just doesn’t work anymore. And not only that, but when I press play to start a song on either deck while the Looper is playing, the app behaves like it doesn’t know what to do, it shortly skips the track twice before the song is played, and then it’s out of sync with Looper. This happens even before I connect the iPad to my Mixtour Pro, so it’s nothing to do with the controller. I really hope you can fix this soon.
I’m using iPad (10th generation) with iOS 18.4.1. Djay app is updated to the latest version 5.3.1.
Hi @Marko_G, sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. Thanks for the details about the issue and your setup. I tested this on my iPad and could not reproduce the issue. Can you please try to capture a short video of the issue and upload it here? Thanks!
Hi @Marko_G, thanks for the video. This is very helpful. Please press Play on Deck 1 or Deck 2 first, then start the Looper and everything should sync as expected. I tested with the same tracks you are using and was able to get everything to sync as long as I start one of the decks first.
Thank you for your reply, but how is that a solution? Looper didn’t work like that before as I was able to keep it running for hours and all the tracks would sync perfectly to it. If you’re saying that I should stop and start the Looper every time I crossfade between songs, then you’ve completely changed Looper’s functionality for worse. Too bad. If you keep it that way, then it becomes useless for what I was using it.
I’ve just tried what you said and some of the tracks really sync up, but if the Looper is already playing and I want to sync another song to it, it doesn’t work… Or it does, but you can’t tell in advance because you won’t know until the song starts playing. Thanks to your suggestion, I found another quirk: Songs sometimes sync to a 1 beat interval even when Beat Sync Interval is set to 4 beats in Settings. Strange…
@Marko_G no you do not need to start and stop the Looper after transitioning between Decks. You just need to have at least one of the Decks playing before you first start the Looper. Perhaps something has changed with the functionality in the latest release. I’ve always had a song already playing before starting the Looper so I’m not 100% sure. Let me share this with the dev team and get back to you.
EDIT: if you start the Looper first, try pressing Sync on the Deck before you press Play. That seems to be working on my setup.
