Loosing sync while changing tempo with hardware connected

Device model: 2022 iPad Pro 4th Gen, M2
Version of operating system: iPadOS 18.3.2
Version of djay: 5.3.1
Hardware/controllers used: Reloop Mixtour Pro Firmware 1.0.2

Summary of the issue: if you use software only the sync works as intended. The tracks keep in sync even when I move the pitchfader of one song. Perfect for transitions. This bevor also worked in the past versions as described with hardware connected.

After the latest update (tested again on 5.3.1) the sync stops as soon as you touch the pitchfader when hardware is connected. Tried it with Mixtour pro. After disconnecting the hardware the sync then also fails in software mode when touching the pitchfader. After restarting in software Mode only it works again. After connecting the hardware it fails.

How to reproduce the issue: Start app only. Sync 2 tracks and change pitchfader. Both songs keep the same speed. Now plug in Mixtour Pro. When touching pitchfader while sync is active the sync stops working. Unplug Mixtour. Sync keeps failing when touching pitchfader.

See Video attached:
0-30 sec: software only, intended behavior
31-60 sec: hardware connected, failing sync while pitch change
after 60 sec: switch back to software only, sync keeps failing while pitch change

Hi @PasQualle, sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. Thanks for the video and the details about the issue.

I suspect that perhaps you are adjusting the tempo of the “Slave Deck” on your hardware instead of the “Master Deck”. Perhaps you have the Channel Level Fader down on one of the Decks or the Crossfader is on the opposite deck that you are trying to change the tempo on. Try testing again with both Channel Faders up and the Crossfader in the middle.

Thanks for the reply. The channel faders in deed have to be slightly open.

Problem solved.
