macOS sign in, invalid session

Trying to sign in to sync across devices and I’m getting an invalid session all the time. I think it maybe down to me initially putting in a wrong email, I’ve updated it recently with apple. Problem is, I can’t seem to update the with the correct email and the sign in keeps using my cached creds with no way to change them.

Tried clearing the browser, but doesn’t work.

Hi @Gabby_Cole, when creating new topics, please do not forget to answer the questions in our template with specific details about your setup not just “iPad” or “Latest Version”. This helps all of our community moderators to provide the most effective support to users with the utmost efficiency. Thanks!

Device Model (ex. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen):
Version of operating system (ex. iOS 17.3.1):
Version of djay (ex. 5.1.3):
Hardware/controllers used (ex. Reloop Ready):
Hardware Firmware Version (ex. 2.7):

When you say “Trying to sign in to sync across devices”, are you referring to iCloud Syncing in the djay Settings>Advanced>SYNCING>iCloud?

Device Model - MacBook Pro M3 pro
Version of operating system - Sequoia 15 (same issue before update)

When you say “Trying to sign in to sync across devices”, are you referring to iCloud Syncing in the djay Settings>Advanced>SYNCING>iCloud** - Yes, Correct

Thanks for the additional details @Gabby_Cole . What version of djay are you using?

Hi again @Gabby_Cole, please refer to the linked FAQ below regarding iCloud syncing setup and let me know if this helps solve your issue.

Djay 5.2.3 pro btw

Bit of a disaster this morning. After getting a couple of screen shots my ipad, which hadn’t done a sync before, decided it wanted to now sync. This this then wrote over my playlists on my mac :expressionless:

That’s the screen I get on my mac and I’ve no way of entering any other creds when I hit sign in.

This is my ipad that up until about 20 mins ago would always say initializing on status.

This is my account signed in on my ipad.

Additionally, icloud sync is turned on both devices.

Further note, I just tried to sign in on my phone and used my apple account to sign in. I get the same issue as my ipad, invalid session with no way to change sign in

Hi @Gabby_Cole, thanks for the additional details and screenshots. This is very helpful. Please try logging out of your Apple ID on all devices, restarting all devices then logging back in.

Hi again @Gabby_Cole, you don’t have to log in with a djay account in order to use iCloud sync. Please also note that iCloud sync only syncs metadata like cue points; playlists are not synced.

OK, understood about the playlists. Guess it’s less so of an issue for me now but still

I’ve signed out, restarted and back in on icloud, still getting invalid session with no possible way to update or change the account it’s trying to load

Hi @Gabby_Cole, regarding the “invalid session” error, could you please try to record a video of this so we can see the steps? Ideally both on Mac and iOS, as you are getting the error on both. Then upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? Thanks!

Thank you @Gabby_Cole

Hi @Gabby_Cole, sorry for the delayed reply on this. Unfortunately, our engineering team was not able to reproduce this issue nor determine the cause. However, they have suggested you try the following:

On your Mac:

  1. In Safari go to settings > Advanced and enable “Show features for web developers” at the bottom. This adds a new menu “Develop” in Safari.
  2. Select Develop > Empty Cache
  3. Go to djay, click “Sign In” in settings, then “Open in Safari”
  4. Try logging in

If the same issue happens on iOS here’s how to clear caches there:

Please let me know if this resolves your issue. Thanks!

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
