Hi,
when I’m in My Collection and do a search in Music or Playlist, when I click the header for BPM, Comment, Grouping, etc…in the Search List window it doesn’t reorder the songs according to the bpm column even if I click bpm reorder in the search bar in my next search it won’t be organized in bpm again. Is there a way to reorder the songs in the Search List according to the header column the same way it works in the Playlist,Music and Folders?
HI @Temitope_Oyebode, ordering is currently supported in grid view only, since it’s more clear how ordering should work.
If you want to order search results, it’s best to activate “Search Playlist”, highlighted with the first arrow in the screenshot. Then you can click the BPM column to order the results.
Yes thanks for the response but this would only search through the current playlist what if I want to search from general crates I would have to uncheck the playlist box in the search bar but it won’t be in the order of BPM although there is this bpm option at d top of the pop-out search I realized I have to keep clicking on the bpm function at the top each time I want to search generally it does not save in the order of bpm its goes back to its default each time i search
Hi @Temitope_Oyebode, thanks for the clarification. On Mac in iTunes/My Collection/My Files source you can switch the search results side panel to column layout by expanding the side panel width. Unfortunately, the sort by BPM option is not sticky and will reset after every search at the moment.
However, I have changed this topic from a Question to a Suggestion and have passed this onto the dev team for consideration. In the meantime, please use the blue vote button at the top left of this page so we can gauge user demand for this feature. Thanks!
i voted for this. i too would like this to happen on windows also. its annoying to scroll back through the list every time to get back to where you left off. even set a “next track” button and it still jumps out.
Thanks for the additional feedback. I’ve added Windows to the topic.
I hope this is still in consideration also because i can’t find this solution in the new launched version
Yes, this is still in consideration.
I have 2 suggestions on Search button:
-
When I use Search My Collection button and type anything, it will be much more comfortable and faster to find something if all the results there will be sorted by BPM for default because the results are shown in small column when I play my set
-
When I use Search My Playlist button, it will be much more comfortable if I find the song, tap on it (for example #480) and close Search button, so the cursor position will be saved on that position, sometimes I need to play songs near that song in the playlist, and now I need to manually find it the playlist
Thanks for the suggestions @explash. I have forwarded this to the dev team for consideration. In the meantime, please use the blue Vote button at the top left of this page so we can gauge user demand for this feature. Thanks!
When searching for tracks, they don’t show up sorted by BPM automatically
I have to click to sort it every time. Also, I’ve noticed the search engine misses tracks. It might help to include some inclusive filters, like accounting for songs with commas or special characters. A few times I’ve had to use Spotlight to find a track, then drag it to the deck, only to realise it was already in the library but didn’t appear in the search.
Hi @Owe_Marley, Thanks for the suggestion, however, please use search before creating new topics. I have merged your new topic with this existing one. You can use the blue Vote button at the top left of this page to show your support for adding this feature. Thanks!
Why is it that every time I want to search for a song it’s not orderly sorted by my defualt settings with bpm in my search bar I have to click bpm each time I search
Hi @Brown_bkp, please use search before creating new topics. I have merged your new topic with this existing one. You can use the blue Vote button at the top of this page to show your support for this suggestion. Thanks!
all i can see, this topic has been created since september 2024 and yet changes has not been made to it in the new version of djay pro
Hi @Brown_bkp, I’ve passed your additional feedback onto the dev team. In the meantime, please refer to the linked topic below for more details on how the Suggestion topics and voting system works. Thanks!
+1 to this. Coming from Traktor and this is a must for scrolling in between playlists on the fly.
Also when leaving and coming back into a playlist it defaults to the top of the list, I think it’s important to need to be able to pick up where we left off!
Thanks for the additional input @jaysnbrwn
