**Hey everyone,

I was wondering if it’s possible to map the FX pad with a Midi Fighter Twister or any other hardware pad or alternative options. Thank you for your guidance!**

Hi @TABAN, it’s not possible to directly MIDI Map the Pad FX, but you can achieve basically the same results indirectly. I will use the iOS version of djay to explain, but it should be pretty similar on macOS.

  1. The Pad FX essentially control the Filter and a Manual FX at the same time.
  2. You get the best results by mapping this to an XY touch surface, however, you can for example map this to an Encoder or Potentiometer/Knob.
  3. To achieve this with the Midi Fighter Twister, first MIDI map an Encoder to control the Filter.
  4. Then in the left side of the MIDI learn tool click and slide left on the control that you just mapped to reveal the Duplicate function.
  5. Duplicate this control, then MIDI Map the duplicated control to FX 1 Parameter.
  6. You may also need to expand the Advanced Control Configuration area and use Invert on the Filter and/or FX1 Parameter to have these controls move in the desired direction.
  7. You will also need to MIDI map the Encoder Pushbutton to FX 1 Enable to that you can toggle the FX ON/OFF.
