Master Deck Syncing to Slave Deck?

Hey guys,

i’m still trying to switch from serato to djay but right now i experience a very strange behavior with my synced tracks.

I just recorded a video so you can see the problem.

Link to Vimeo: Djay Pro Sync

As soon as i load up a track on the right deck and my crossfader is still on the left deck, the “playing” deck which is the left one in this case, jumps in a strange way and it crashes the live performance sound.

Do you know why this is the case here?

Hey Jannis,

Essa

I’ve been using djay Pro for a while now and had a similar problem.

What’s probably happening with you: If Sync + Beat Sync is enabled, the track automatically jumps to the nearest beat in the grid when loading – sometimes one bar forward or backward. Normally this only affects the non-active track.

Check the following:

  1. Click on “MIDI” in the menu bar at the top

  2. Then click on “Options”

  3. “Invert Crossfader” – check or uncheck this box depending on the current status

After that, the active track should no longer “jump” when you load another track.

Let me know if it worked!

Best regards

Essa

Hey Essa, mein Freund… Danke dir vielmals! Checke ich direkt heute Abend und melde mich back  Merci!

Hey Essa, my friend… Thank you so much! I’ll check it out this evening and get back to you  Thanks!

Hi @djolde,

That’s pretty curious.

And not only is the waveform on the left deck jumping, the tempo of the left deck also seems to change. Probably adapting it to the tempo of the right track?

I noticed you only use the crossfader to switch between decks. Just curious: does the same problem occur if you close the regular fader of the right deck?

Also, looking at your video recording, I’m wondering which “mode” you’re in. Is that hardware mode? And which layout are you using?

Hey Bro, this hack worked! Thanks alot! Awesome… I clicked on “Crossfader invert” and also on “Start Motor off” - I have to do a little bit more testing but i think this was the hack!

thanks alot brother

hey guys, the problem is back.. i experience it on multiple setups.. i have this problem on my flx10 and also on a Pioneer CDJ setup plus a X1850 from Denon DJ…

i will upload one more video… maybe you guys have another idea why i have this problem with the “main track” jumping.
