I see no reason why not @Dysfunk_DJ. In this configuration, the Mixtour Pro can connect directly to the venue sound system. Think of the Meta-Quest headset as a replacement for your laptop, tablet or phone, but instead of a screen you have a heads-up-display.
Wild. I bet thatās a lot of fun?
Totally! It really feels like the future. I canāt wait for the headsets to get smaller and closer to the eye glasses form factor.
This is what Iām looking at. (emphasis on seeing the virtual decks ārendered as realistically as possible, given tradeoff with function v/s headset battery and cpu āthatās where baked tex helps)
So audiences see a cast / projected view at a gig⦠and the DJ āair crate diggingā to pull out the next vinyl from mid air and slap it on the tables.
Hey guys ā I thought Iāll ping this request / suggestion.
Itās quite engaging for both DJ and audience to "see " the virtual decks even if using a DJ controller.
I love carrying the slim Numark Dj2Go2 Touch but love even more the virtual turntables seen when casting a session to screens around a venue.

See if you guys can update the soft? Many thanks
Thanks for continuing to push this suggestion @dirrogate. Iāll let the team knowā¦
Hey guys⦠Really, can we enable the virtual decks to be seen when the Numark DJ2Go2 is used. āPerformingā in MixedReality is as much about the eyecandy as it is about the practicality (of using a hardware controller)
In this case itās because I cast / project the headset visuals on a big screen
Thanks for the additional input @dirrogate
Seems like Algoriddim have ditched dev on the MetaQuest version of Djay?
Itāll be a shame if true. I really like the idea of āpicking recordsā from thin air from the āair cratesā while audience sees themselves and the records on the cast/projected output on screens in a venue.
Builds a bond between DJ and puntersā¦
So many possibilities (i could list to you guys a step at a time)ā¦see the attached pic where arps and live track from sideloaded daw provides live synth control jammingā¦
Would have to reluctantly go to TribeXR if thereās no movement in this area.
(Still waiting for Numark DJ2Go2 showing the virtual decks as user selected option)
Hi @dirrogate, thanks for continuing to share feedback on djay for Meta Quest. We really appreciate your input and support. Our team is still actively developing on this platform. Please understand, however, that we are actively developing across Meta Quest, visionPro, macOS, iOS, Windows and Android so it may take longer than expected for certain enhancements to be realized. Thanks!
Every month I keep coming backā¦hoping thereād be some dev. The last update for the MetaQuest was Feb 12th. Now 6 months later, we still have unresolved bugs that put a damper on using DJAY with the MetaQuest, professionally.
To recap:
-
Music in your own User library, randomly renders the artwork as āblackā and after that progressively degrades the audio until thereās no option but to reboot
-
the artwork on the label is āreversed/mirroredā (a simple fix that could be implemented overnight )
The ongoing request:
Please enable the virtual turntable visuals when using the Numark DJ2Go2 hardware.
This will make DJay a huge seller as a live, visually attractive and compact solution for Guest DJing in clubs / venues.
Hi @dirrogate, thanks for continuing to check in and push these issues and suggestion. I have pushed the dev team on this again for you.
Hi again @dirrogate, I spoke with the dev team and they are looking into adding virtual turntable support for the Numark DJ2GO2 hardware. Regarding djay fro Quest in general, we have a number of features and improvements in the pipeline. Right now, weāre actively gathering input from the Community and evaluating several improvements to the experience on Quest. While we canāt share specific timelines just yet, please rest assured that an update is in the works.
This is good news @Slak_Jaw
Which reminds me of a few notes I scribbled during my last session with Djay on the MetaQuest
-
Right TT start stop button is too close to cross fader and inadvertently gets triggered.
-
When the Quest controllers are in use - finger (outline) should not trigger action on the buttons. instead, the trigger button on controllers should engage any action.
-
handle and home button/fx button etc are too close to cross fader.
Consider trigger button (when using quest controllers) or pinch gesture when using hand tracking to engage all āmenu buttonsā such as environ/home/headphones/music folder⦠this eliminates accidental or unintentional engagement.
For the main deck manipulation, of course normal fingers over them is a good paradigm.
(But still worth while to ensure when using controllers, the trigger is pressed to show intent)
Thanks for the additional input @dirrogate. Iāve passed this onto the Quest dev team for consideration.
