I have bought, since 2021;
serato dj pro license ($149),
serato dj expansion pack $299)
I can tell you clearly,

  1. serato has a much higher frame-per second waveform draw-rate off all current dj softwares i know, of. Live and on screen recording, its waveform is naturally more nicer to look at.
  2. he cheated the grid for serato - serato can never, and has never been that good in beat-gridding! The grid for serato dj pro has One (1) anchor at the very point where serato thinks it heard anything like a sound or a hiss - doesn’t even matter if it is a musical sound, beat, kick or snare, , and the rest of the grid follows the overral average of the BPM.
I have never ever seen my serato dj pro adjusting it’s grid to compensate for dynamic bpm changes, never!

he used serato studio gridding!
meanwhile serato dj pro does NOT use that grid by default for serato dj paid-up members.

or do they mean one must buy serato dj pro, then then dj expansion pack, then serato studio in order to enjoy that quality of gridding?

On a positive note:
Shyts! That French Kiss song by Lil Louise was good - couldn’t wtach BPM
But the way djay pro kept alert on-beat consistently was miraculously scandalous

Thanks for the input as always @Armigo

Anytime @Slak_Jaw. I’m not sure what Voodoo Magic Algoriddim is using for their beatgrid technology, but it’s clearly the best in the industry.

You can use the free version of Serato Studio to re-analyze your files to get dynamic beat gridding.

I used it earlier this year to re-analyze my entire library, I did notice a huge improvement with Serato Studio compared to SDJ Pro.

But it’s nowhere near as accurate as Algoriddim Djay Pro.

Only if you buy his software - and only if you use a Mac.

He’s offering free versions to beta testers who contribute so you never know.

To be a better tester, you must have bought either DJCU or DeCU. You have to email him using your paypal email used to purchase this. Ya. Then, you get a free upgrade to djcu 2

Algoriddim should bill him (he’s selling our fluid beatgrid away!)

Interested in the public beta?

If you already own a DeCU or DJCU license, just send me a DM or email with the PayPal email address you used for your purchase, and I’ll happily add you to the beta.

Also watched this yesterday… really insightful regarding the power of Djay Pro’s grids.

And really makes the clunky, outdated waveforms of Traktor stand out!
