Mixtour Pro not working with Android after 5.5 update

Hi there,

I have been experiencing an issue with Mixtour Pro and my Android devices after latest update 5.5

Nothing works!

I have tired it on 3 different devices - 2 tablets and 1 android phone.

I also own older Mixtour and there are no issues with this controller.

Has anyone experienced similar issues.

Can you please advise why this is happening and direct me with a solution.

Thanks guys.

Hi @lost_orderz, welcome to the Community! Sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. When creating new topics, please do not forget to answer the questions in our template with specific details about your setup not just “iPad” or “Latest Version”. Device Model (ex. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen):
Version of operating system (ex. iOS 17.3.1):
Version of djay (ex. 5.1.3):
Hardware/controllers used (ex. Reloop Ready):
Hardware Firmware Version (ex. 2.7):

  1. Have you installed the latest Reloop Mixtour Pro firmware v1.02 from the Reloop website?
  2. How exactly are you connecting your Android devices to the Mixtour Pro?
    A. Are you using any USB Adapters or USB Hubs?
    B. Have you tried using different USB cables?
  3. Is your Android device connected to the USB-C socket with the Tablet/Phone icon?
  4. Do you have at least a 20W charger connected to the other USB-C socket with the PC/20W icon?

I tested this with my phone running Android 15, djay 5.5 and the Mixtour Pro with firmware 1.02 and everything is working normally.

Hi Slak_Jaw,

My setup -

Tablet Doogee T30 Ultra
Android 13
Djay version 5.5
Reloop Mixtour Pro
Firmware v1.02

I use only 2x usb c - usb c cables and a 30w usb c charger.

Still nothing works, after switching on the 2 neural buttons flashing for about a minute then stop and just the split button in the middle is on. No control over the app.
Strange as the Mixtour Pro works perfectly fine with my Surface Pro.

Hi @lost_orderz, thanks for the details about your setup and additional information.

  1. When connected to the Mixtour Pro and your 30W power supply, is your Android device charging normally or not?
  2. Have you tried using different USB-C cables? Please note that not all USB cable are created equal. I highly recommend that you use high quality USB-C cables with dual ferrites on either end that are rated for data and at least 30W power delivery. I personally use the Chroma Cables from DJ TechTools.
  3. Can you please try updating to the latest Android OS version and retesting?
  4. Please capture and share a short video of the issue as well. Thanks!

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!

Hi,

Yes, all my Android devices charge normally, no issues. I have tried different cables and tested it with an Android 15 device, still same issue.

No issues with Mixtour Pro controller when connected to an iOS or Windows device,
No control over the app when connected to an Android device.

It use to work perfectly fine before latest update.

Thanks for the video @lost_orderz,

To ensure a proper connection between your MIDI controller and djay for Android, please connect the controller to your Android device following these steps:

  1. Close the djay app on your Android device.
  2. Power off the Mixtour Pro and disconnect it from your Android device
  3. Reboot the Android device.
  4. Connect the 30W power adapter to the 20W/Laptop USB port on the back of the Mixtour Pro but do not turn it on yet.
  5. Connect your Android device to the Mixtour Pro Phone/Tablet USB-C port.
  6. Power on the Mixtour Pro.
  7. Ensure that location services, WiFi, and Bluetooth are enabled on your Android device.
  8. Launch djay for Android. djay should automatically configure the MIDI controller.
  9. Test and confirm if it is working or not.

Note: It is important to perform the above steps in the given order to ensure that the Android OS will detect the MIDI controller correctly.

If that doesn’t work, then I would try uninstalling djay, rebooting your device, downloading the latest version of djay from the Official Google Play Store and installing again. Then follow the steps above again.

Evening Slak_Jaw,

Have followed your instructions including
reinstalling djay app. Unfortunately nothing works and I honestly don’t know why.

Evening @lost_orderz, sorry to hear that didn’t work. It could be a compatibility issue with your specific Android device. We’ve had reports in the past with some Android devices simply not working with djay.
